ADVANCE Program

Advising

Students are assigned to classes by faculty advisors in the ADVANCE program.

Many students complete the ADVANCE program in one semester. If students have declared a major by the time they have cmpleted ADVANCE program requirements, they will be transferred to an advisor in their major field of study for assistance in selecting classes. Those who have not yet declared a major will be advised by personnel in the Academic Advising Center.

Class Selection

The courses students take depend on their:

1. ACT or SAT scores
2. Evaluations made by their teachers during the first week of classes

Supervision

Students are closely monitored during their first semester by the program director, advisor and teachers. Appropriate help is offered if a student seems to be in need of further assistance.
