Mission
The mission of the Academic Resources Center is to serve as a central location that provides information and services needed by students to achieve academic success. A range of support activities and materials are included to:
- Provide a learning environment that is individualized, personal and supportive to all Harding University students.
- Provide support by means of supplementary materials for additional drill and practice in course skills.
- Provide tutorial and counseling programs that prepare students to function effectively, efficiently and confidently.
- Assess learning and study skills, and provide materials to develop needed skills.
- Identify individual learning styles that contribute to effective adjustment to the teaching-learning situation.
What's there for me
Trained tutors provide help with many of the courses available at Harding University--Bible, business administration, liberal and fine arts, mathematics, sciences and various reading and study skills. Other services include:
- Self-paced tutorials on computer disk and videotape for self-improvement (Reading comprehension, Reading speed, test-taking and more)
- Tutorial programs to help you prepare for graduate school tests and professional skills exams
- Special services, including internet accessible computers available for student use
- Learning Enhancement workshops to help you make the most of your study time
- Supplemental Instruction (SI) - a group tutoring opportunity available for certain freshman-level courses
