Teaching and Research Interests

My doctoral work at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center allowed me to study Pathology with an emphasis in the area of autoimmune disease. The research that I was able to be a part of at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation focused primarily on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but also included other autoimmune systemic vasculitic disorders as well. My previous research has instilled in me a passion for the study of immunology and pathophysiology, which I thoroughly enjoy sharing with my students. My current teaching responsibilities include Human Anatomy and Physiology (BIOL 249) and Introduction to Cell Biology (BIOL 159) while also offering my assistance to senior level students preparing for their Senior Seminar (BIOL 440) presentations.
