Department of Biology

Degree Information

Students may choose from among three degree plans in the Department of Biology. The Bachelor of Science in Biology (BIOL) and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BCMB) degrees both prepare students to be competitive in post-graduate and professional study as well as entry level positions in academic, industrial, and governmental laboratories. The BCMB degree is offered jointly with the Department of Chemistry. Course desciptions, syllabi and web pages are available here.

The Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree is offered for students seeking teacher licensure in biology at the secondary school level. More detailed information is available in the downloadable file Degrees in Biology (pdf).
