Teaching and Research Interests I have had the good fortune of studying biology from both an organismal/ecology and cell/molecular perspective. I gained my first research experience as an undergraduate student examining prey selection in water snakes. Planning a lifework in ecology, I completed a master's degree in the area of behavioral ecology. However, when my husband and I moved to Texas A&M, I began a career path very divergent from snakes and behavior. At TAMU I was privileged to work with Dr. Loren Skow, and learn the science and art of molecular genetics. After 11 years working with DNA, I joined the faculty at HU and began a tenure in teaching. My primary teaching responsibilities include Cell Biology, Cell and Molecular lab, Molecular and Cellular Biology and coordinating Senior Biology Seminar. I also participate in Developmental Biology, Animal Physiology, and occasionally Genetics. |
