College of Business Administration
The following scholarships are available for business majors in the College of Business Administration. Some of the scholarship amounts are divided among multiple recipients. The majority of scholarships are awarded in the semester following the selection. Applications for each of these scholarships are available in the COBA Dean’s administrative office.
INTERNAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
Carter Business Scholarship: Amount: $10,000 per year
Criteria: Business student who supports the mission of COBA, desire to be active in Christian service upon graduation, and are in financial need. Preference made to students from northwest Arkansas. This scholarship is typically divided among four students each year at approximately $2,500 per student per year. Selection made by the Dean of COBA. Deadline: March 15.
Sam Walton Scholarship: Amount: $3,000 per year
Criteria: Preference given to applicants who major in business and are from countries other than the United States. Other criteria include leadership potential, involvement in school, and financial need. Selection made by Dean of COBA. Deadline: March 15.
Brackett Christian Business Scholarship: Amount: $3,000 per year
Criteria: Applicants should major in business. Criteria includes academic performance, leadership, diligence, and financial need. Preference is given to applicants from the state of Florida. Selection made by the Dean of COBA. Deadline: March 15.
BKD Accounting Scholarship Amount: $3,000 per year
Criteria: Junior or senior accounting majors with desire of a career in public accounting. Criteria also includes academic performance and leadership potential for public accounting. Selection made by Director of Accounting program. Deadline: March 15.
Region’s Leadership Scholarship: Amount: $1,500 per year
Criteria: Business student from White County (Arkansas). Funded by the local Region’s bank, this scholarship was designed to assist students who attended high school in the local area. Primary criteria is financial need. Chosen by Dean of COBA. Deadline: March 15.
Bug Man Scholarship: Amount: $1,500 per year
Criteria: Senior married business student who supports the mission of COBA. Criteria is primarily financial need. Chosen by COBA faculty. Deadline: March 15.
Neal Accounting Scholarship: Amount: $1,000 per year
Criteria: Junior or Senior accounting major who supports the mission of COBA. Selection made by the Accounting faculty. Deadline: March 15.
Oliver Sales Scholarship: Amount: $2,500 per year
Criteria: Student majoring in Professional Sales who supports the mission of COBA. Selection made by faculty committee. Deadline: March 15.
Lois Maple Endowed Scholarship: Amount: $750 per year
Criteria: Female business student who demonstrates scholarship, leadership, diligence, and financial need. Chosen by the Dean of COBA. Deadline: March 15
Charles Walker AMA Scholarship Amount: $500
Criteria: Senior marketing major in COBA who supports the mission of COBA and is active in the American Marketing Association. Selection made by marketing faculty members. Deadline: March 15.
Reely Senior Management Award Scholarship: Amount: $200
Criteria: The top senior management major as selected by the management faculty. Presentation given at the COBA Awards dinner in the spring semester. No application required.
Cochran Junior Management Award Scholarship: Amount: $300
Criteria: The top junior management major as selected by the management faculty. Presentation given at the COBA Awards dinner in the spring semester. No application required.
