Accounting Society
The Accounting Society is a professional organization comprised of accounting majors. Its primary purposes are to provide: opportunities to expose the students in the accounting profession; inform about the various career paths; instruction regarding curriculum choices; and, situations for creating networking capabilities for job placement. The Accounting Society is open to all accounting majors (and minors) at any classification. In addition, the Accounting Society members participate in the local community or fund raising for mission efforts.
The Way: Servant Leaders in Healthcare
Harding's Health Care Management Program prides itself on its ability to offer unique advantages for its students. It strives to provide exceptional opportunities to network, expand skills, and develop and observe best practices.
- The Way encourages students to establish a working relationship with health care leaders. Opportunities are provided by attending the Arkansas Hospital Association Annual Convention.
- The Way invites speakers from the health care industry to the student chapter meetings. Past speakers have included affiliated healthcare executives and the Arkansas serving Regents.
- The Way assists students in the establishment of links to promote career development by volunteering in the health care community. Members volunteer at the Christian Health Ministries Clinic and engage in service projects for Careway Adult Day Care and Victory Place Adult Day Care. Others may volunteer time working on projects for a local health care provider.

American Marketing Association
AMA is a business group who uses marketing tools learned in the classroom to help promote campus activities and encourage community involvement. AMA is nationally accredited and recognized all over the world. Activities include: Marketing Case Competition, COBA Cookout, BBQ Wars, White County Hospital Fashion Show, Pizza Wars, and Etiquette Dinner. There is also a spring trip scheduled for students who earn the most points through involvement in activities. http://www.marketingpower.com

Business Information Technology Students (BITS)
BITS, or Business Information Technology Students, is a student led group that provides a social and learning atmosphere for the sharing of knowledge about the IT field. It fosters networking with potential employers, development of knowledge of internships, industry trends, and employment opportunities in the IT field.
Small Business Management Teams
These teams normally are a product of MGT 365. They write a business plan that is submitted to the Reynolds Governor's Cup Business Plan competition in Little Rock, AR. The top twelve written plans in the state are selected to make an oral presentation of their plans in Little Rock. The top three plans are awarded cash prizes.
Economics Team
On six occasions since 1979, Harding’s “Capitalism Corps” Economics Teams, the winningest in the country, have won first place in national Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) intercollegiate competitions. On six other occasions the Harding SIFE team was first runner-up in the annual year-long competitions. Typically, the Harding entry chronicles a variety of 60 to 70 multimedia Economic Enlightenment Project and programs which have been presented before civic, professional, employee and educational groups in the Mid-south.
International Business Society
The International Business Society is a professional society comprised of those undergraduate students majoring in international business. Students come from throughout the United States, Canada, Central & South America, Europe - both Western and Eastern, China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Africa. They speak a range of languages including English, Spanish, Russian, Albanian, Mandarin, Japanese, German, and French.
The Society provides activities that build upon and expand the academic learning process within the College of Business Administration. Each month of the year members can choose to attend various Society functions starting off with a backyard barbeque at the home of the Harding faculty; attending one of the weekly business meetings at Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas; visiting the International Master of Business Administration Program at the University of Memphis; touring an international business such as Nike in Memphis to study their production and distribution world wide systems; participating in a business trip to Donetsk, Ukraine over spring break where they will assist in the presentation of a week long seminar on the importance of personal values in business and sharing the Bible with students at the State Institute of Artificial Intelligence and the Open University of Donetsk; sharing the spirit of Christmas in the home of one of their teachers; learning how to prepare for a job search in a special on-campus seminar; and attending the annual awards banquet of the Society.
Members of the Society will build relationships between active members of the Society as well as to those members who have graduated and are now working. These networks often become integral to professional development and job location.
The students in the Society also support a service project. The members that travel to the Ukraine take funds raised by the Society to an orphanage located in Donetsk, Ukraine. In addition, they spend a day at the orphanage meeting the children and sharing in their lives.
Phi Beta Lambda
Phi Beta Lambda, the college level equivalent to Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), develops competent, assertive business leadership, strengthens the confidence of young men and women in themselves and their work, participates in worthy undertakings for the improvement of business and community, and develop characters, train for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM)
The mission of SAM is to provide an opportunity for the members to increase management skills and expertise through participation in programs and services designed to improve the professional quality of their knowledge, performance, and leadership ability. SAM was founded in 1912 by the colleagues and disciples of Frederick Taylor, the "Father of Scientific Management." It is a non-profit organization run and built by hundreds of volunteers. SAM is an organization that focuses on general management skills.
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
The purpose of this chapter is to acquaint students considering a future in the fields of human resource management and/or labor relations; to keep students up-to-date on new developments in the field of human resource management; to develop a nucleus of professional human resource managers for the future; and to encourage adherence to the Code of Ethics of SHRM. Students in Free Enterprise (Economics Team)
The team is composed of students who are interested in free enterprise economics and are willing to develop creative and effective ways of promoting it. As a team, they have won six national championships and have been runners-up six times in intercollegiate competition. Contact Dr. Don Diffine.
