The mission of the Department of Computer Science is to:
- Prepare students for participation in all phases of software development;
- Provide a foundation of fundamental concepts which will accommodate emerging technologies
The CS Department is in the College of Sciences. We offer BS and BA degrees in Computer Science which prepare students for placement in the following positions:
- Software Engineer
- Computer Systems Analyst
- Database Programmer/Administrator
- Network Engineer
- Web Developer
- Graduate studies in Computer Science

- New report shows high demand for CS graduates... job prospects better than engineering and math.
- Harding junior, Weston Castleberg, will receive the prestigious SMART Scholarship from the U.S. Department of Defense for the 2010 school year.
- Harding CS professor Steve Baber was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Computing in April 2010.
