Mission Statement
Our mission is to prepare highly competent speech-language pathologists in a rigorous academic curriculum with an emphasis on Christian living. The program is designed to reflect the university goal of integrating faith, learning and living in order for the students to function within professional and global communities.
Specific services include diagnostic, evaluation, and management services for speech and language disorders. Services are provided by graduate and undergraduate students under the direct supervision of certified faculty members. All clinical faculty members are certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and licensed by the Arkansas Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Speech and Language Assessment
Diagnostic services are provided to people of all ages for
- Articulation disorders
- Language delay or disorders
- Fluency disorders or stuttering
- Voice disorders
This includes but is not limited to stroke victims and persons with neurological problems related to certain diseases and syndromes. Assessment typically includes comprehensive testing, observation, interview with the client and/or family members, and consultation regarding clinical findings and recommendations.
Intervention programs vary depending on the nature and severity of the communicative disorder, the client’s age, and individual concerns. Therapy is provided for children and adults and may be scheduled for individual or group sessions. Parents of children in therapy, as well as family members or caregivers of adult clients, receive information throughout the semester regarding the client’s progress and ways to facilitate communication skills outside the clinic. A consultation is scheduled during the final therapy session in each semester to provide recommendations to the clients, parents, and/or caregivers.
Treatment services are provided to people of all ages for

Clinical sessions and diagnostic evaluations are taken upon an "as available" basis. They are offered to any child or adult and do not require a physician referral.
The Harding University Speech Clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. during university semesters (fall, spring).
At this time, the Harding University Speech Clinic does not charge for clinical services. Our goal is to reach out to children and adults who do not qualify for other available services or who have a connection with Harding University. A yearly grant from the Arkansas Scottish Rite Masons assists us in covering our expenses.
The Harding University Speech Clinic is located on the first floor of the Reynolds Center at Harding University. The Reynolds Center is located on the corner of Burks Blvd. and Beebe-Capps Expressway, across from the Ganus Athletic Center.
