The Internship Experience

Students in the mass communication program must complete a 240-hour internship for two hours of academic credit prior to graduation. (Download the Internship Experience packet below for more information.) Students are encouraged to participate in more than one internship; the value of real-word experience cannot be overstated.

Most students complete their internships during the summer after their sophomore or junior years. Students are responsible for securing their internship positions; however, they should consult with their major advisor. Most internships for communication majors are unpaid, but the experience can be incredibly rewarding. Some internships even lead to full-time jobs after graduation.
