What is Pipeline?

Pipeline is a "portal" for Harding University students, faculty and staff. It offers e-mail services, calendar organization, daily announcements, groups, message boards and live chat features. For your convenience, all of these features are available on and off-campus.

Logging into Pipeline top

  • In order to log into Pipeline, type in the address: http://pipeline.harding.edu
  • Use your Harding username and password to log in at the top left corner of the screen.
  • The very first time that you log into Pipeline, you should see a screen that looks similar to this:
  • Click on "Let’s Begin" and you will be brought to your main Pipeline page which will look similar to this:

  • Under "My Headlines", you can customize your headlines and daily news of interest.

Checking E-mail top

To check your Harding e-mail, click on the button at the top of the screen that is labeled "e-mail." It looks like an envelope.

  • You will then be brought to your Harding e-mail account.
  • There is a "help" link at the top to provide assistance on the use of features of this e-mail program.

Accessing your Calendar top

  • To access your calendar, click on the button at the top of the screen that is labeled "calendar."
  • Next, you will see your calendar.
  • You may add events, add tasks and search your calendar from the buttons at the top.
  • You may also give others permission to see and add to your calendar.
  • The options tab will allow you to change your calendar’s viewing settings.
  • There is a "Help" section to help you learn how to use your calendar most effectively.

Accessing your Groups top

  • To access your groups, click on the button labeled "groups" at the top of the main Pipeline page.
  • You will be brought to a screen that shows what groups you are subscribed to. If you do not belong to any groups, this screen will not list any groups.

  • By clicking on the link "Groups Tutorial", you can learn all about what groups are, and how they work.
  • To subscribe to a group, click on the tab labeled "Groups Index". You will then be able to see a list of available groups. Click on the categories to view groups in different categories. Below is an example of the "service" category groups.

Pipeline Groups

  • You will need to be approved by that particular group’s moderator before joining groups, however you can submit your request online through the provided form. Many teachers, offices, and departments may have groups set up that would be of particular interest to you.
  • You may also request that a group be created. An Administrator will decide whether the group is approved or not. You may submit your request for the new group at the site by clicking on the tab labeled "request group". You will be notified if the group is approved. Please be sure to view the Groups Policy and Membership Policy located in the gray bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • There is also a "help" feature for this section if you have additional questions.
