Troubleshooting your Connection
- Make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements for DormNet. If it doesn’t, you may not have enough memory to use it on the network or enough hard disk space to install all of the software.
- Make sure that you are using a network patch cable. A telephone cord WILL NOT work.
- Make sure that the patch cable is firmly plugged into the orange jack in the wall.
- Make sure that the patch cable is firmly plugged into your Ethernet card in the back of the CPU. If you have a laptop, make sure that the patch cable is firmly plugged into the dongle, and that the dongle is firmly plugged into your Ethernet card.
- Shut down and restart your computer. Sometimes, it just needs to be restarted. Just doing that has solved MANY problems!
- See also Username and Password Problems if you are having trouble with these.
