Master of Education
The Master of Education degree is designed to give new as well as in-service teachers advanced training in subject matter fields and in professional education. This program meets the needs of both new and experienced teachers who recognize the personal and professional benefits to be gained from additional training. Students who did not certify to teach at the undergraduate level may do so while pursuing the master of education degree.

Master of Education in Educational Leadership
Program for Building Level (Principal's) Licensure
The Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership rigorously prepares candidates to become highly qualified building level administrators. Standard teacher licensure and at least 2 years of teaching experience are required to enter the program. Candidates will complete a 37-hour program of study (including a 2 hour Bible course) inclusive of 2 internships and the compilation and defense of a portfolio. A program of study not leading to a degree can be designed for those already holding a master's degree. Completing this degree or program of study will qualify the candidate for initial building level licensure. Successful completion of the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) and a valid mentoring program will result in standard building level licensure from the state of Arkansas as either a P-8 or 7-12 administrator depending on the candidate's teaching experience.

Master of Science in Education
The Master of Science in Education degree program is planned to facilitate student attainment of vocational and personal goals without completing teacher certification requirements. This program is flexible and is designed to meet the needs of students who have specific vocational goals in mind.

Master of Science in Counseling
Professional Counseling Site
The Master of Science in Counseling prepares intellectually sound, emotionally mature, professionally competent counselors. Students come from diverse backgrounds with some individuals recently graduating and other individuals bringing varied experiences from the working world. All are preparing to be professional counselors in schools and/or community counseling settings. The M.S. program in Counseling requires students take and become proficient in eight core areas of counseling: professional identity, social and cultural foundations, human growth and development, career development, helping relationships, group work, appraisal, and research and evaluation. These courses are written to CACREP guidelines and lead to licensure as a School Counselor and/or a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Master of Science in Educational Technology
Schools today are in need of instructional technology leaders, and this course of study will prepare students to be technology leaders in their classrooms or chosen occupations. Many educators also wish to gain knowledge that will allow them to recommend or request appropriate technologies for the classroom.
Additionally, this degree serves as an alternative for educators who want to further their education in an area outside of their specialization that will benefit themselves and their schools. Noneducation students will find this program helps them to utilize technology more effectively in the workplace.

Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership
Program for District Level (Superintendent's) Licensure
The Educational Specialist degree provides candidates with the competencies necessary for school district leadership. A minimum of initial building level administrator licensure is required. Courses and program requirements meet current Arkansas state guidelines leading to district level administrative licensure (subject to having standard building level licensure and the successful completion of the School Superintendent Assessment ). The Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership is a 32-hour program (including a Bible course). A specialist project, a professional portfolio, and written comprehensive examinations are required for completion of this degree, in addition to completing the 32-hour program. A state approved 24-hour Program of Study for obtaining district level licensure is also available for those not interested in completing an Educational Specialist Degree.

Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (P-20)
This degree combines leadership doctoral programs for kindergarten through grade 12 and higher education. Students will master core knowledge in these fields and develop a high level of analytical (quantitative and qualitative) research skills complemented by extensive and relevant leadership knowledge in management, planning and policy.

Not Seeking a Degree
Students seeking additional teacher licensures or those who have already taken six hours of graduate work at Harding are classified as NSD students. These students must apply for admission to the Graduate Program as NSD students and are required to pay the $35 application fee and supply all admission materials.

Special Student
