Serving individuals, families and communities

Applied Human Sciences has been an integral part of the Harding University academic curriculum since its founding in 1924. As a multidimensional evidence-based discipline, our program is dedicated to human service and community well-being. The curriculum is designed to equip graduates with the competencies necessary to engage effectively with diverse individuals, families and global communities. Students enhance their professional development through experiential learning, career shadowing, domestic and international field study, internships and professional conferences. Leadership development is fostered through departmental organizations as well as the state affiliates of professional associations.

Guided by the love of Jesus, we walk alongside families with empathy and compassion, supporting them as they grow and flourish.

Master of Science in Applied Dieteitc Practice Program

The Child Life Major is endorsed by the Association of Child Life Professionals. This recognition assures that the program meets the requirements set forth in the ACLP’s Standards for Academic and Clinical Preparation Programs, confirming that the program’s structure, curriculum, resources, support system and sustainability are of the highest quality.

Family Life Education Major

The Family Life Education Major is an NCFR-approved program. It offers a streamlined path to becoming a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), preparing graduates for careers in family support, parenting education and community outreach.
