Dietetics Club
The Dietetics Club is open to all dietetics majors. This organization takes field trips to local and state organizations, entertains guest speakers on dietetics, and attends professional meetings. This organization provides great opportunities for dietetics majors.
Family & Consumer Sciences Student Association
The Family and Consumer Sciences Student Association is a professional club for all FCS majors. The club takes field trips to local, state and inter-state organizations that are of interest to all FCS majors. The Student Association sponsors a service project every semester. In the Fall of 1999, the FCSSA collected funds for the Hope Cottage, a battered women and children shelter. During the Spring of 2000, the students made gifts for outstanding members of Harding University's staff. This club offers many opportunities to participate in statewide activities, develop leadership skills, and attend professional conferences.
Kappa Omicron Nu
The Nu Delta Chapter of Kappa Omicron Nu is a national honor society dedicated to recognizing and encouraging excellence in scholarship, research, and leadership in family and consumer sciences. The chapter was chartered at Harding University on October 27, 1995. Membership is by invitation based on the completion of 45 semester hours in family and consumer sciences or one of its specializations with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and a ranking of the top 25 percent of the class in the unit.

Scholarships
Mildred L. Bell Home Economics Scholarship
Faculty, friends, and family members established this scholarship as a tribute to Dr. Mildred L. Bell, Chairman of the Harding University Home Economics Department from 1959-1984.
To be eligible for the award the applicant must:
- be a junior or senior majoring in family and consumer sciences.
- have a cumulative GPA of 3.00.
- be a member and active participant of AAFCS.
- show evidence of high moral and ethical standards.
- show evidence of leadership.
Selection is made by the current faculty members of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Harding University. The scholarship is awarded for a one year period. Recipients are eligible to re-apply for the scholarship on an annual basis.
The scholarship funds will be applied toward the university tuition fees for the year in which the scholarship is awarded.
Each applicant must submit three letters of recommendation. Each letter of recommendation should include information concerning moral and ethical standards, personality, appearance, and academic ability of the applicant. Persons from whom recommendations would be helpful include teachers, administrators, counselors, ministers, or elders. Ask each person to send the letter of recommendation directly to:

Reba F. Sloan Dietetics Scholarship
An annual scholarship of $500 is available to students majoring in dietetics at Harding University.
To be eligible for the scholarship the applicant must:
- have completed at least one semester at Harding prior to applying.
- be actively pursuing acceptance into an ADA Approved Dietetic Internship
- be a junior or senior majoring in dietetics
- have a cumulative GPA of 3.50.
- show evidence of high moral and ethical standards.
Selection is made by the current faculty members of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Harding University. The scholarship funds may be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
