Having class in a computer labAdmission Requirements

  1. Complete application with $35 fee
  2. Hold an undergraduate degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  3. Be admitted to the Graduate School and the M.A.T. program
  4. Complete an entrance exam - which may be either the National Teacher Examinations, PRAXIS II, Miller Analogies Test or GRE general exam. The NTE and PRAXIS II cutoff is the Arkansas cutoff score for licensure (professional knowledge [PLT] and area). The Miller cutoff score is 30. The GRE cutoff score is 900 (Quantitative and Verbal combined). The applicant must have a copy of scores on file.
  5. Submit an official transcript

  • M.A.T. can be completed in 15 months
  • Registration will be held prior to or during the first class meeting
  • M.A.T. courses held Friday evenings and Saturdays

Steps to be Completed for M.ED., M.S. and M.S.E. Degrees

These steps must be completed and are the responsibility of the students in approximately the order given:

  1. File application for admission to the Graduate Office
  2. Forward one (1) official transcript to the Graduate Studies Office
  3. Submit a copy of passing Praxis II Examinations scores or the Miller Analogies Test scores or GRE general exam scores to the Graduate Studies Office. In lieu of test scores, a current teaching licensure may be submitted.
  4. Receive admission form from the Graduate Studies Office
  5. counsel with the chair of Graduate Studies concerning the course of study.
  6. If a thesis is to be written, file forms and make arrangements through the chair of Graduate Studies.
  7. Register online through Campus Pipeline each semester.
  8. Complete financial registration with the Business Office online.
  9. The semester before a student plans to graduate, a “Request for Degree” should be filed in the Graduate Office.
  10. File application for comprehensive examinations during the last semester of residence BEFORE deadline date given in catalog. Comprehensive examinations are not required for Educational Leadership or School Counseling degrees.
  11. Counsel with instructors about scope of the comprehensive examinations.
  12. Pay graduation fee with financial registration to the Business Office the last semester before graduation.
  13. Successfully complete comprehensive examinations.
  14. Complete all course work according to the academic regulations stated in the catalog.

Steps to Be Completed for M.A.T. Degree

These steps must be completed and are the responsibility of the students in approximately the order given:

  1. File application for admission to the Graduate Office
  2. Forward one (1) official transcript to the Graduate Studies Office
  3. Submit a copy of passing Praxis II Examinations scores or the Miller Analogies Test scores or GRE general exam scores to the Graduate Studies Office. In lieu of test scores, a current teaching licensure may be submitted.
  4. Contact Graduate Studies Office to transfer any elective credit. This may only be done at the time of application.
  5. Receive admission from the Graduate Studies Office.
  6. Counsel with the chair of Graduate Studies concerning the course of study.

  8. Complete financial registration with the Business Office online.
  9. The semester before a student plans to graduate, a “Request for Degree” should be filed in the Graduate Office.
  10. Pay graduation fee with financial registration to the Business Office the last semester before graduation.
  11. Complete all course work according to the academic regulations stated in the catalog.
