AdmissionApplications for Harding's International Programs are accepted at any time from prospective participants. Applications are accepted from students of Harding University and other institutions of higher learning. At the time of participation, students must have completed a minimum of 27 semester hours with a grade point average of 2.0* or higher. (*HIZ is a selective program that requires a 2.5 GPA) Criteria for admission include character references, academic ability and a potential to profit from such study. Students who are accepted will be notified in writing. Students who are accepted for the program must meet the same standards and abide by the same rules as those of the Searcy campus. No student on probation at Harding University or another campus will be accepted. The same moral principles required on the Searcy campus will be rigorously applied. Students accepted into our International Program will be provided a handbook with useful information on obtaining a passport, courses offered, a calendar for the semester and other pertinent topics to prepare them for the experience. |

Academic Information. Most semesters are three months in length with 16 hours of credit. A combination of courses is offered to maximize the site chosen for the program. Independent study and guided research courses may be approved by various departments for students needing them. Cost. The University seeks to offer this study opportunity to students at the lowest possible cost. Prices will vary somewhat due to field trips and transportation costs. The announced and included field trips are subject to change at the discretion of the University, and the University reserves the right to change the tour plans. Final program costs are approved in May for the July fiscal year. Costs for the program, as of June 2008, include, but are not necessarily limited to: $400 non-refundable application fee. Travel Information. Harding University will make all necessary travel arrangements for all students going in the group. Exemptions for any student who wishes to arrange his/her own travel must be approved in writing in advance by the dean of international programs. |
