EVERY STUDENT PARTICIPATING IN HARDING UNIVERSITY IN FRANCE MUST BE QUALIFIED FOR FRENCH 102.

Please note: No student is eligible to attend Harding University in France who is currently on academic, chapel or disciplinary probation on the Searcy campus. Any student who has applied and/or been accepted will automatically become ineligible if placed on any type of probation up until time to depart. Such individuals will be placed on a waiting list and may go only if there are openings after probation has been removed. In addition, a student must have an overall 2.0 GPA.

French 102 - Elementary French II (4) Dr. Joli Love

A continuation of 101. Prerequisite: 101 or equivalent.

French 202 - Intermediate French II (3) Dr. Joli Love

A continuation of 201. Prerequisite: 201 or equivalent.

French 325 - Regional Language and Culture (3) Dr. Joli Love

Offered upon sufficient demand in a French-speaking country. Linguistic variations of the chosen region. An in-dept cultural study of the given country or of the given region within France with special attention to the contemporary period. Prerequisite: 202 or equivalent.

French 413 - Professional French (3) Dr. Joli Love

A practical application of French conversation, writing and translation for a variety of professional fields, such as business, medicine, and interpreting. Prerequisite: 303

Bdoc 354 - Contemporary Christian Ethics (2 or 3) Mr. Paul Love

Application of the scriptures to current moral issues to help students gain Biblical insights into moral problems.

Bmis 280 - The World Christian (2-3) Guided DVD course

This introductory course focuses on key questions about God, His world, and our mission in order to foster a world Christian mindset and values. This course establishes the foundation for subsequent missions courses. Note: The 3-hour option is recommended for those students taking the course as a Global Literacy requirement.

Humanities 270 - European Civilization and Humanities (2-6) Miss Jacqueline Dillion

An integration of the disciplines of art, drama, history, literature, music, philosophy and religion stressing their shared thematic and stylistic qualities within the broad period of Western civilization. Required of all students participating in the European programs. May substitute for 2-6 hours selected from the following: Art 101, English 201 or 202, History 110 or 111, Music 101, Philosophy 251, and one course from Music 311, 312, 313, or 314.

Economics 201 - Macroeconomics (3) Mr. Paul Love

The overall workings of the economy and its major subdivisions; our economic system, business cycles, money and banking, national income accounts, and stabilization policy.

Economics 202 (3) Mr.Paul Love

Market mechanisms, applications of supply and demand, business models, product and factor markets, global business, economic development, and comparative systems.

English 251 - British Literature (3) Miss Jacqueline Dillion

Developments and significance of British literature, with its historical, social, and philosophical backgrounds from the beginning to present time. Satisfies the Liberal Arts requirement for World Literature. 

Biology 111 - General Biology (3) Guided DVD course

A lecture course in the principles of biology for students not majoring in natural sciences. Satisfies the general education requirement in biology, but does not count toward a major or minor in biology.

Biology 113 - Human Structure and Functions (3) Guided DVD course

Structure and function of selected human organ systems and the cellular mechanisms. Designed for majors in communication disorders, dietetics, nursing, physical education, and other who need an introduction to human anatomy and physiology. Satisfies the Liberal Arts requirement in biology, but does not count toward a major or minor in biology.

Biology 250 - Environmental Science (3) Guided DVD course

Biological knowledge of the structure and function of ecosystems; human influence on the environment. (Satisfies 3 credits of Global Literacy)
