Some chain pharmacies have scholarships for pharmacy students. They may stipulate something like this: you work for them part-time while in school, full-time in summers, and for a specified number of years after graduation. It's often a good deal. Contact the pharmacies directly for these scholarship opportunities.
Rite Aid offers scholarship opportunities available through schools of pharmacy and professional pharmacy organizations such as the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS). If you want to find out more about the NACDS and NPHA Foundation/Rite Aid scholarship application process check their web sites at www.nacdsfoundation.org or www.snpha.org.
The Phi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has established the Cassandra Taylor Scholarship in Memory of our beloved member Cassandra Taylor. Cassandra was a very dedicated member to Alpha Kappa Alpha and her local chapter. She was a hard working mother, wife, and student. We lost Cassandra in September of 2007 and it is with great admiration that we honor her by establishing this scholarship in her memory for the love and the service that she offered to our great sorority. Cassandra received a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and was pursuing her Doctoral Degree of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The goal of the Cassandra Taylor Scholarship is to support the development of future leaders in pharmacy and to recognize pharmacy students who are pursuing a career in pharmacy.
