What is the Tech Fee and How is it used?
There is a technology fee charged per semester (which is pro-rated for part-time students). This fee covers Internet access, use of the computer labs, technology classrooms, the Cyber Cafe (in the Student Center), dorm connection, firewall protection, content filtering, disk storage space, e-mail accounts, Blackboard usage (online class software) and help desk resources. The campus does not charge extra fees for network connections in residence hall rooms or for off-campus access.
Bringing a Computer
You will not be required to purchase your own computer. However students may of course bring one. For suggestions on choosing a computer, visit the DormNet page.
Help desk services for students are available through DormNet. The Help Desk is available from 11a.m.-10p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11a.m.-5p.m. Friday. The phone number is 279-4545. A lab manager is also present in every computer lab during open hours.
