Pre-register to make arrangements for free babysitting. (*indicates CEU choices)

Cost of the WINGS Conference is $20 which covers all meals and handouts. Simple Supper coordinated by Martha Vendetti assisted by CAMT wives

1. Programming the Route: “Recalculating . . .” by Christine Kennedy and Nikki Hopson. (HU students talk about issues of self esteem, purity in relationships…)

2. Second Guessing the GPS: “Questioning the Media GPS” by Lisa Burley.

(The appeal of popular books, movies and music in making lifestyle choices.)

3. Detours: “Detours” by Beth Robinson*

(Maneuvering through or around current issues that can take women off course.)

4. Women’s Ministry: “Reaching All Women” by Nancy Tackett and Carie Whittaker

(Being inclusive)

(Thinking objectively, critically, and Christianly in a maze of conflicting influences)

3. Detours: “Obstacles” by Molly Rummel

(Health issues as detours and/or obstacles)

4. Women’s Ministry: “Organizing Women’s Events” Donna Brooker, Janice Hurd and Cathy Jarrett. (Practical tips and advice on how to be successful)

(What if I don’t trust the instructions?)

3. Detours: “Repair Service” by Jenene Alexander*

(Triple A helpers to the rescue)

4. Women’s Ministry: “Outreach and Bridge Events” Suzanne Dillard, MaJunta Bulovic and Brenda Johnston (How to reach others using women’s ministry events)

$20.00 per person includes all handouts, refreshments and luncheon. Interpretation for the deaf may be available if requested by February 20. Students may attend the conference free of charge with the option of purchasing a luncheon ticket for $10.00. Please pre-register by February 25 so we can plan adequately for food and babysitting.

 

Students taking WINGS for one hour of Bible credit, BRES 363, should sign up in the registrar’s office by February 27 at the regular tuition rate. Requirements for the class may be obtained from the Registrar’s office or from the Counseling Center. Professionals may receive six Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for an additional $20.00 – See Paula Vines at the registration table for details.

 

WINGS (Women in God’s Service) is sponsored by the Harding University Department of Marriage and Family Therapy. WINGS 2009 will be held in the College Church of Christ , 712 East Race Street, Searcy, Arkansas.
