Curriculum

The Harding University Physician Assistant Program curriculum is a 28-month sequential course of study.  A Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Physician Assistant Studies is awarded after successful completion of the program.

The didactic phase begins in August of each year and encompasses three consecutive semesters (fall, spring, summer) of didactic and hands-on study. Classes and labs are all held on-site in our modern facility on Harding's campus.

The clinical phase begins August of the students' second year and spans four semesters (fall, spring, summer, fall).  This phase is comprised of both didactic education and supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPE), referred to as clinical rotations.

The development of the program curriculum is based on:

  • Standards described by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant,
  • the Program’s mission statement and
  • the professional and personal needs of our future PA graduates.
