Members, start your engines!
If you'd like to meet students from all over the globe while honing your presentation skills, then head to the capitol of Indiana on April 2, 2009, where Alpha Chi's three-day National Convention will take place at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis.
Alpha Chi's convention theme, "Literacy 500," connects us to our host city's famous annual auto race. In that style, the party after the opening banquet will feature "pit crews" competing against each other for prizes. Friday and Saturday mornings will be devoted to student presentations which could earn you a $200 cash prize. And there will be plenty of time for exploring Indy with your new friends.
Literacy 500 -- Service Project
Because we'll be in Indy 500 territory, for our Literacy 500 service project we plan to collect 500 children's books to benefit the Riley Hospital for Children. Bring a few books with you to donate to this national literacy project, and you'll receive your own project t-shirt to proudly wear back on your campus.
Experience one of Alpha Chi's most memorable conventions ever, and be a part of “making scholarship effective for good” as Alpha Chi uses Literacy 500 to make a positive difference in others' lives.
Chapter Sponsors: A detailed packet of convention information is being prepared and will be mailed to your campus, as well as being available online, as soon as it's ready. An email to the list serve will be sent when the packet is available. (10/1/08 L. Noah)
