Activities
ASID: The Interior Design program at Harding University sponsors a student chapter of the American Society of Interior Design. The student chapter kicks off each year with a membership drive. Activities throughout the year include monthly meetings, a guest speaker each semester, fundraisers and service projects, field trips, and a Christmas party. A group of students attends the professional meetings held in Little Rock each month.

Designer for a Day: Students may participate in "Designer for a Day." These activities allow a student to gain valuable experience by assisting designers or architects.

Fundraisers and Service Projects: The ASID student chapter participates in a Habitat for Humanity workday and fundraisers that support Habitat for Humanity. As another fundraiser, students make handbags from fabric remnants and hold a silent auction. This money helps reduce the cost of trips.

Career Day: A group of ASID students attend the annual career day, which is hosted by the South Central Chapter (Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas) of ASID. This event allows students to explore career options, enter work to be judged, and meet other students and professional members in our region.

Awards/Competitions: Other opportunities for all interior design students include the Brass Ring Awards Competition hosted by Oklahoma Christian University, ASID design competitions and a Scholarship Essay contest.
