Entry 4 Updates-Per NBPTS on 12-01-05

Entry 4 – Documented Accomplishments consistently has the lowest scores of all certificate areas because of lack of connection to student achievement. This entry must have:

Ø     Direct and indirect impact

Ø     Evidence of student learning

Ø     Specific examples

Ø     Less is more!

Ø     Articulate connection to student learning

Ø     Letter from a parent is much more impactful than a flyer

Do not rewrite standards –

Ø     Show evidence of standards in the writing

Ø     Demonstrate standards in real life situation with students

Must connect DA (Entry 4) to student learning! Use evidence (artifacts)) that documents impact of student learning and/or write about it.

Assessors are looking for evidence of student learning.

Generate c, c, c, evidence and connect what the goal is, instructional context, methodology and student impact.

Assessors write NO FIT often on scoring guides – due to not implementing The Architecture of Accomplished Teaching

The three modes of writing are really 3 modes of thinking.
