Information:

Vaccinations can be administered at the Searcy Medical Center. Please call to make an appointment (501-278-2800). Upon arrival, state that you are with Harding International Mission Internships (your name should be on a list).

Make sure to pick up an International Certificate of Health (it's a yellow form) that can be filled out as you receive you vaccinations.

If you are under your parents insurance and their insurance will cover the vaccinations, you may use your insurance to lower the amount of funds you will have to raise. You will be reimbursed (out of the funds you raise) by the internship for any amount spent on vaccinations if you choose to use your own/your parents insurance. Simply turn in a receipt to the internship director.

Malaria medication will be paid for out of the money raised by interns. The internship director will order the medication (Mefloquine) and give it to you. You are to take one pill a week starting two week before you leave and ending four weeks after you leave. Your team may want to all begin at the same time so a dose is not skipped throughout the course of the internship. If you have any problems with malaria medication, please notify the director on your Personal Medical History form.

Non-Harding Interns are responsible for getting their own vaccinations. Upon the completion of the vaccination process, please mail the receipt of your expenses to Casey Allison, HU Box 12280, Searcy, AR 72143. Remember to check and see if your insurance covers the vaccinations. If so, please send in a record of the amount you paid out of pocket.
