Vocational Ministry Suggested Course Sequence

Created: November 15, 2001

  1. The Vocational Ministry major is intentionally flexible so that its requirements can flow around the requirements of the student's primary major. There is not an essential sequence to the courses in this major, though the sequence below is recommended.
  2. VM majors should NOT take the sections of BOLD 101 and BNEW 112 that are designated MAJORS ONLY. Those sections are for those who are pursuing the full 60 hour majors in Bible (Missions, Youth and Family Ministry, Preaching, Bible, Biblical Languages).
  3. The symbols, (2) and (3), represent the number of hours for the course. Where courses have a 2-3 hour option, the course should be taken for 2 hours, except for BDOC 252, which should be taken for 3 hours.
  4. A one hour weekend seminar, such as BYFE 334, is recommended to complete the total of 33 hours. Otherwise, one of the courses from the BMIN, BMIS, or BYFE divisions must be taken for 3 hours instead of 2.
  5. The symbol, X, means the student can choose from any course in that division.
  6. If you have any questions, email Ross Cochran or call ext. 4786.
  7. The student must have at least 33 hours from the College of Bible and Religion, 16 of which must be upper level (number 251 or higher).
  • 10 hours from divisions of BNEW and/or BOLD.
