They put a Band-Aid
on my head
And said I wasn’t
well,
They sent me to a
special class
To read, and write,
and spell.
I felt as if my
brain
Was sick as it could
be,
Until I met the
teacher
Who changed my life
for me.
In her class we
talked a lot,
We read, we wrote, we
played,
And slowly, oh, so
slowly,
The pain began to
fade.
When she took the
Band-Aid off,
I was shocked to
find
There wasn’t a
bruise
Or even a scar,
No sore of any kind.
