Class Outline

Class Objectives

 

1.  Learn the importance of teamwork and communication in the development of software.

 

2.  To simulate as much as possible a competitive, real-world development situation.

 

3.  Develop software using an organized approach from analysis to implementation.

 

4.  Experience working under pressure and deadlines. 

 

5.  Use existing skills and learn new skills necessary to develop quality software.

 

Class Grade

 

Your grade for this course will be 65% team-oriented and 35% individual-oriented based on the following:

t                  User Interface Presentation (15%)

 

t                  Implementation Summary (10%)

 

t                  Acceptance Test (35%)

 

t                  Bonus  points (5) - awarded to team judged first in acceptance test

 

                                                        Individual-Oriented Grades

 

t                  Mid-Term Evaluation (10%)

 

t                  Final Evaluation (20%)

 

t                  Computer Science Outcomes Assessment Exam (5%)

 

Penalty

Each class or team meeting that you are absent (unexcused) will result in a 1 point penalty at the end of the semester! (This actually is 1% of your grade since the maximum (not counting bonus) points you can make is 100).
