|Danielle John of Tomball, Texas graduated from Harding in 2012 with degrees in International Business and French. John is currently interning with RainCatcher, a non-governmental organization that sources clean drinking water through rain water catchment in temperate and tropical climates of the majority of the world. John became connected with the RainCatcher team through Harding’s Center for Business as Missions (NiMA) and works with Harding students and represents Harding through her internship.|
Prior to her internship at RainCatcher, John was working in the field Haiti with a project towards economic development. She currently works on the administrative side of missions with RainCatcher, and is enjoying her different experience in the process.
“There is certainly plenty of work to do at headquarters, and I love doing what I can to help raise money for the projects,” John said. “Fundraising and grant writing are absolutely essential to making dreams a reality and I am able to play a vital role in those functions.”
John’s dream would be to continue her work for RainCatcher after her internship, or to use the valuable experience, knowledge and connections she has gained in her pursuit for other meaningful work.
“This internship with RainCatcher involves the kind of global awareness, sustainability and servanthood that Harding’s Center for Business as Missions stands for,” John said. “My fellow interns and I are seeing firsthand what it’s like to use business knowledge and skills to serve others in a sustainable and empowering way.”
