Graduation can be a very exciting time of your life...but also very stressful! The following information is provided by the Provost's office in order to make your life a little easier. This information may help you to tackle your responsibilities ahead of time, so that when graduation week arrives, you can enjoy your special day.
Listed below, you will find a graduation week breakdown of the events or responsibilities you need to complete. You will also find a list of correct tassel colors you will pick up in the Bookstore with your gown. Please contact our office with any graduation questions. Graduation Week Activities:
MAY Graduation is held in the Benson Auditorium for each ceremony. The doors will open at 7:30 a.m. before the 9 a.m. ceremony; The doors will open at 12 p.m. before the 1 p.m. ceremony. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis. There is seating on the floor available for those handicapped/elderly people.
JULY AND DECEMBER Graduation is held in the Benson Auditorium at 10 a.m. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. before the ceremony. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis. There is seating on the floor available for those handicapped/elderly people.
On the day of the ceremony there is a graduation luncheon held from in the cafeteria to honor the graduates and their families. Each graduate receives three complimentary tickets that can be picked up the week of graduation in the Alumni Office. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door.
We are so proud of all the graduates and look forward to seeing all those who will be here to support them on this very special day!
The week proceeding Graduation:
Tuesday: Beginning today caps and gowns may be picked up in the Harding Bookstore between 9 am and 4:30 pm. They will be available throughout the week and on Saturday morning before graduation. If you pre-ordered a packet, it will be ready with your name on it. Extra packets will be available by size. Be certain you get the correct color of tassel for your degree (list below). If you were unable to order early you should contact the Harding Bookstore at 501-279-4351 with questions.
Wednesday: After 3 pm, copies of the Line of March and Graduation Instructions will be available in the Provost office or on the Pipeline homepage. If your name is on the list, but you do not plan to attend please notify our office at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 501-279-4335.
There will be no rehearsal for the commencement ceremony. Rather, students with be led in by faculty marshals.
Friday: In May and December there is a dessert reception in the back dining room of the Heritage Cafeteria beginning at 7 p.m. for all candidates for graduation, their family, and friends. Faculty and administrators look forward to meeting and visiting with their students and family members during this special time.
Saturday: Be in the Science Building, across the plaza from the Benson, to line up as directed in the Line of March and Graduation Instructions documents (available on the login page of Pipeline).Guest seating in the Benson Auditorium is available on a first come basis. The Benson Auditorium will open for guest seating at 8:30 a.m. in July and December.
All graduates and their families are invited to lunch in the Heritage Cafeteria. Each graduate may pick up three complimentary tickets from the Alumni Office, and additional tickets may be purchased at the door of the cafeteria.
