Graduation Information
Graduation can be a very exciting time of your life...but also very stressful! The following information is provided by the Provost's office in order to make your life a little easier. This information may help you to tackle your responsibilities ahead of time, so that when graduation week arrives, you can enjoy your special day.
Listed below, you will find a graduation week breakdown of the events or responsibilities you need to complete. You will also find a list of correct tassel colors you will pick up in the Bookstore with your gown. Please contact our office with any graduation questions. Graduation Dates:
Spring 2012 - May 5, 2012
9 a.m. - College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible & Ministry, Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration, Cannon-Clary College of Education.
1 p.m. - College of Allied Health, Carr College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Sciences
Summer 2012 - July 28, 2012
Graduation Week Activities:
Graduation is held in the Benson Auditorium for each ceremony. The doors will open approximately an hour before the ceremony and seats are available on a first-come first-served basis. There is seating on the floor available for those handicapped/elderly people. (Due to limited availability we must ask that this seating be limited to the individual who need this seating plus one family member.)
There is a graduation luncheon held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria to honor the graduates and their families. Each graduate receives three complimentary tickets that can be picked up the week of graduation in the Alumni Office. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door.
We are so proud of all the graduates and look forward to seeing all those who will be here to support them on this very special day!
Tuesday: Beginning today caps and gowns may be picked up in the Harding Bookstore between 9 am and 4:30 pm. They will be available throughout the week and on Saturday morning before graduation. If you pre-ordered a packet, it will be ready with your name on it. Extra packets will be available by size. Be certain you get the correct color of tassel for your degree (list below).
Wednesday: After 3 pm, copies of the Line of March and Graduation Instructions will be available in the Provost office or on the Pipeline homepage. If your name is on the list, but you do not plan to attend please notify our office at provost@harding.edu or call 501-279-4335.
Saturday: Be in the McInteer Building, directly across the plaza from the Benson, to line up as directed in the Line of March and Graduation Instructions documents (available on the login page of Pipeline) 30 minutes prior to your ceremony.
Shuttles will be running from parking lots around campus on a regular basis both before and after the ceremony for our guests convenience and comfort.
