Graduation Information
Graduation can be a very exciting time of your life...but also very stressful! The following information is provided by the Academic Affairs office in order to make your transition a little easier. It helps to tackle your responsibilities ahead of time, so that when graduation week arrives, you can enjoy your last couple days on campus. Listed below, you will find a daily breakdown (graduation week) of the responsibilities you need to complete. You will also find a list of correct tassel colors you will pick up in the Bookstore with your gown. And finally, you will see a form provided for your convenience that is necessary for the information found in the graduation program. Graduation Week Activities:
Tuesday: Caps and gowns may be picked up in the Harding Bookstore between 9 am and 4:30 pm. They will be available throughout the week and on Saturday morning before graduation. If you pre-ordered a packet, it will be ready with your name on it. Extra packets will be available by size. Be certain you get the correct color of tassel for your degree (list below).
Wednesday: Copies of the Line of March will be available in the VPAA office or on your Pipeline homepage by 3 pm. To be sure your name is in the program correctly, make sure you complete and return (Box 10773) the form found below. This form will be emailed and sent by regular mail at least 3-4 weeks prior to graduation.
Thursday: Rehearsal at 4 pm in the appropriate graduation venue. Information you will need is provided in the Line of March. Please print or pick up your copy to take to rehearsal. Check all instructions carefully! If you are concerned about the pronunciation of your name, see the Dean of your College at rehearsal. They will appreciate your help in preparing for the ceremony.
Friday: A dessert reception for graduates, families and friends is provided in the Heritage at 7pm. (all graduation ceremonies). The College of Business has a reception for it's graduating seniors in the Mabee Business Building from 6-7pm. (May and December graduation only)
