Master of Ministry

News - Spring 2012

Who Is in the MMIN Program

The majority of our MMIN students are full-time ministers who apply our course contents to their present ministry to bless hundreds of people. The balance of our students are those preparing themselves for a career change, or are bi-vocational ministers, or current shepherds of churches. We currently have students living in 19 states and 2 foreign countries.  The Master of Ministry started in fall 2004 and now has 32 alumni of the program serving the Lord in 13 states and 1 foreign country.

What Are MMIN Students Saying About the MMIN Program?

  • The MMIN has been the missing link in my own disciplining process. It has helped my ministry come alive.
  • The MMIN program has changed my spiritual life. Instead of being a cheap replica of Christ, I strive now to be a mirror truly reflecting Christ.
  • Awesome program! Deep! Rich!  Harding University has struck gold!
  • Wonderful growing experience.
  • Enabled me to learn more about God and to be a better servant while engaging in full-time ministry.
  • I feel better equipped to minister in my community
  • A place to challenge your mind, convict your heart, and change your ministry.

Enrollment Continues to Grow

Five new students were accepted in the Master of Ministry program to begin classes this spring. This semester we have our highest enrollment ever with 44 MMIN students taking 234 hours of classes this spring.  There are currently 65 active students in the Master of Ministry program. We count as “active” all those who were enrolled in the summer, fall, or currently. We realize that many times students have to take a semester off from their studies.

J-Mester 2012

Our annual on-campus gathering of students was January 2-7, 2012. We offered two classes: MMIN 611 Theological Foundations for Ministry taught by Dr. Bill Richardson and MMIN 621 Christian Ministry in Contemporary Culture taught by Dr. Monte Cox. These two classes are core courses of the MMIN degree program and are required of all students. We ask all students in the 48 contiguous states of the U. S. to come to campus for two J-Mester experiences. This was our fourth J-Mester and we enjoyed having 24 students on campus to enjoy a wonderful time of study, fellowship, and renewal. What Are MMIN Students Saying About the J-mester Experience?

  • Most rewarding experience of my life
  • J-Mester has helped me connect the knowledge I’m receiving to the heart of the mission of the MMIN program.
  • In a postmodern technology age, “face-to-face” learning is an irreplaceable art.
  • Face-to-face discussions enable growth and understanding among servants.
  • The experience of being on campus and seeing professors and fellow scholars adds depth to the on-line environment that needs to be experienced by all who tackle distance learning.
  • Wonderful opportunity to enjoy quality academic pursuit on the terrific Harding Campus
  • A wonderful place to experience growth with Christian community
