Singing
throughout the country...
The Chorus also makes a
number of trips each year and has sung in 43 states. Most tours are planned
for weekends
or times when classes are not in session. Performances
on these trips are largely for churches to which the Chorus typically brings
unaccompanied sacred music. The group sings a wider variety of music to school
and civic groups.
...and throughout the world
The Chorus has made ten major trips to Europe (including Russia, Ukraine, and the Balkans), in the summers of 1979, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002 presenting concerts in 21 countries. The group sang in Australia and New Zealand in May and June of 1996 and again in May and June of 2000. In the summer of 2004 the Chorus visited China, Thailand, and Singapore.
The group has performed in outstanding venues, such as the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy; the University Church in Oxford, England; the Stiftskirche in Aschaffenburg, Germany; the Palazzo del Toscano in Catania, Sicily; the Festival Hall in Corby, England; the Brisbane Town Hall; the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace in St. Petersburg; and the Chopin monument in Warsaw, Poland. It has been featured on television in Rome and on BBC radio in England and Scotland.
