MARCHING PERCUSSION CAMP
9 AM - 4 PM Friday and Saturday
The Harding University Marching Percussion Camp is open to all percussionists with a minimum of one year experience.
This intense two day camp will feature personal and group instruction on all marching percussion instruments. Individuals and school drum lines are encouraged to participate. Each participant will learn and perform various exercises and cadences throughout the camp and attend seminars concerning composing for drum line, drum maintenance and care, marching techniques, performing techniques, and student leadership.
Each student is required to bring their own instrument - none will be provided by Harding University. All students will receive a drum line exercise book as part of the camp fee. The camp will last from 9 am to 4 pm each day.
Transportation, lodging, and food are to be arranged by each participant, helping us keep the cost of the camp low.
The camp is directed and taught by Dr. Wesley Parker. Dr. Parker is Director of Athletic Bands and Percussion Instructor at Harding University. He has been the instructor and arranger for the Harding University Drum Line since arriving in Searcy, AR in 2007. Assisting in the camp will be members of the HU Drum Line.
