Harding University Jazz Band to perform with professional pianist
SEARCY, Ark.— The Harding University Jazz Band will perform with
internationally recognized jazz pianist Bill Carrothers at the annual
fall concert Nov. 19.
Carrothers has played concerts around the world throughout his 30-year
career as a professional pianist. He has been the leader of 17
critically acclaimed recordings such as The Artful Dodger, Civil War
Diaries, Home Row and Joy Springs.
Carrothers will be the featured soloist at the concert and will
perform three pieces with the jazz band and three pieces with a small
group of students. He will be using several of his original works
while featured on the keyboard.
The jazz band will perform several pieces featuring works from Count
Basie, Quincy Jones and Gordon Goodwin. The band will also include
songs such as Down For Double, No Snooze Blues, The Way You Look
Tonight and Not yet Over the Hill.
The concert will be in the Administration Auditorium Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.
