Harding University names scholarships to honor four men
SEARCY, Ark. — The Center for Advanced Ministry Training honored four
individuals at the 86th Annual Harding University Lectureship in
September.
Clinton Brazle, Bill Goben, Monroe Hawley and Park Linscomb were
recognized for their service to the church, and each had a scholarship
named in his honor. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Ministry degree
will be eligible for these scholarships.
Brazle has been active in ministry for 60 years, serving as preacher
at the Bozeman Church of Christ in Bozeman, Mont. He has worked
extensively with young people and was active in the purchase of the
Yellowstone Bible Camp in Pray, Mont. Students from the North Plains
Region of the U.S. will benefit from the scholarship named in his
honor.
Goben has dedicated 40 years of Christian ministry to Montana and
neighboring states. He preaches for the Billings Church of Christ in
Montana and established a two-year internship program for young
ministers just out of college. Students from the North Plains Region
of the U.S. will benefit form the scholarship named in his honor.
Hawley has preached at Southside Church of Christ in Milwaukee since
1958. He assisted in establishing six congregations in Iowa, Illinois
and Wisconsin. In addition, he helped establish Wisconsin Christian
Youth Camp in 1956 and served on the board of trustees at York College
for 19 years. Students from the Great Lakes Region of the U.S. will
benefit from the scholarship named in his honor.
Linscomb has been an evangelist for 35 years for the Manchester Church
of Christ in New Hampshire. He is president of Gander Brook Christian
Camp in Raymond, Maine, and is editor of Northeastern Christian Net.
He was a visiting professor of missions at Harding University from
2005 to 2006. Students from the Northeast Region of the U.S. will
benefit from the scholarship named in his honor.
