Harding University hosts annual lectureship

SEARCY, Ark. ⎯ Harding University’s 86th Annual Lectureship will be
held on campus Sept. 27-30, 2009. Christians from across the country
will come together for encouragement and fellowship, joining under the
theme “Eternity in Our Hearts: Studies in Ecclesiastes.”

Featured events include the annual Preachers, Elders and Wives Dinner
Monday evening with guest speaker Don Vinzant of Edmond, Okla.

College Church of Christ will once again host the Women’s Day program
on Tuesday with lessons and discussion geared toward women and a
special luncheon that afternoon.

Throughout the week, attendees will learn from a variety of speakers
on topics including biblical preaching from Ecclesiastes, youth and
family ministry, children’s ministry, church growth and missions.
Chinese and Spanish Bible classes and lectures will also be offered.

The schedule of keynote speakers includes:

•       Sunday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. - "Beyond Our Quest for Meaning," Bruce
McLarty of Searcy, Ark.

•       Monday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m. - “Beyond Our Hunger for Relationship,”
Thomas Jackson of St. Louis, Mo.
       7 p.m. – “Beyond Our Pursuit of Wealth," Paul Carter of
Bentonville, Ark.

•       Tuesday, Sept. 29, 11 a.m. – “Beyond Our Passion for Knowledge,"
John Fortner of Searcy, Ark.
       7 p.m. – “Beyond Our Obsession With Sex," Mike Ireland of Searcy, Ark.

•       Wednesday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m. – “Beyond Our Despair Over Death,"
Randy Owens of Columbia, Tenn.
       7 p.m. – “Beyond Our Yearning for Youth," Steve Cloer of Fort Worth, Texas

Keynote speaker for Women’s Day is Beth Robinson of Lubbock, Texas,
who will speak on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
