Harding graduate and award-winning author to speak Homecoming weekend
SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding University English department will sponsorTamera Alexander, author of the critically acclaimed Fountain Creek
Chronicles historical series, during Homecoming Oct. 29-31.
Alexander, a graduate of the University, has written seven Christian
fiction novels since 2000 with her eighth expected to be released in
June 2010. Her inspirational romance stories have been published by
Bethany House and Thomas Nelson and have earned her two Christy
awards, the highest honor for a Christian book.
Alexander will speak to a general audience Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7:30
p.m. in the Heritage Auditorium, and admission is free and open to the
public. She will speak Friday to students throughout the day. In
addition, she will hold a book signing at the Harding University
Bookstore located in the Hammon Student Center Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to
1 p.m.
The University’s English department has sponsored notable authors at
least once a year since 1993. In the spring 2010, Andrea Hollander
Budy, one of Arkansas’ most well know contemporary poets, will visit
the campus to speak to students and faculty.
