Congressman Boozman to speak at Harding University commencement
SEARCY, Ark.⎯United States Congressman John Boozman will deliver the
commencement address at Harding University’s graduation ceremony May
9.
A lifelong Arkansas resident and successful businessman, Boozman
represents the Third District of Arkansas in the U.S. House of
Representatives and is currently serving his fourth term.
Boozman attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he
played football for the Razorbacks while completing his preoptometry
requirements. He graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in
Memphis in 1977. He went on to become co-founder of Boozman-Hof
Regional Eye Clinic in Northwest Arkansas.
Boozman and his wife, Cathy, have three daughters.
Ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. in the Ganus Athletic Center, and
575 students will graduate from the College of Arts and Humanities;
College of Bible and Religion; College of Business Administration;
College of Communication; Cannon-Clary College of Education; College
of Nursing; and College of Sciences.
Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,500 students
from 48 states and 52 foreign countries. It is the largest private
university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than
any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains
campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France/Switzerland, Greece,
Italy and Zambia.
