Harding University Jazz Band to perform

SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding University Jazz Band, directed by Dr. Warren Casey, will perform March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Recital Hall.

The Jazz Band will be performing a variety of tunes including some swing standards, a blues shuffle, a swing-funk tune and an original country rock arrangement.

“The group has really come together over the last couple of months and will be ready to give a great show on Thursday,” Casey said. “Come early if you want a seat, as the hall can fill up pretty fast.”

During this school year the Jazz Band performed a benefit concert for the Humane Society last fall and opened for Ben Stein’s ASI presentation in February.

This event is free and open to the public.

Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,500 students from 48 states and 52 foreign countries. It is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France/Switzerland, Greece, Italy and Zambia.
