Exhibit to feature two artists at Harding University

SEARCY, Ark. — The Stevens Art Gallery is showcasing two artists in a special exhibit during September on campus at Harding University.

One gallery features the paintings of Wang Zongxue. He is currently an associate professor and director of Painting Teaching and Research Office at the Xiangnan College Fine Arts Department in Chenzhou City of Hunan Province in China. Zongxue is a member of Hunan Artists Association of Fine Arts and director of Chenzhou Arts Council of Oil Painting.

The Department of Art and Design will host a reception for Zongxue Thursday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Stevens Art Gallery. The exhibit will remain in the gallery until Sept. 17.

Also featured at this time are the paintings of Harding art and design alumna Lisa Paden Dahlman. Dahlman taught college-level English and writing classes for two years in Wuhan, China. Her exhibit, titled “Ten Feet of China,” is based on her experiences there.

Dahlman’s exhibit will remain in the gallery through the end of the month.
