Local combined choruses to sing April 26

Choirs from Harding University, Harding Academy, and Searcy High
School will present their annual joint concert Tuesday, April 26, at 7
p.m. in the Searcy High School Performing Arts Center. Admission is
free and open to the public.

The Searcy High School Concert Choir, under the direction of Tina
Niederbrach, has earned distinction for its tradition of excellence.
Searcy’s Voix des Belles and Male Ensemble were both named Best in
Class at the recent Arkansas State Choral Festival. Harding Academy’s
Chorus, directed by Craig Jones, was designated the Best in Class of
3A mixed choirs at the festival.

Dr. Cliff Ganus directs the Harding University Chorus, and Dr. Kelly
Neill directs the Harding University Concert Choir. Both ensembles are
well respected for their performances in the community and elsewhere.
The chorus traveled through South America last summer and sings each
spring with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.

Each group will sing for about 15 minutes during Tuesday’s program,
and they will combine at the end of the concert to sing a selection
together. The program will include spirituals, choral classics, and
other works, and an international flavor will be added through works
from Mongolia, Germany, and Renaissance France.
