Area vendors welcome at First Thaw Festival April 1-2

Harding University’s Campus Activity Board will host the First Thaw Festival on campus April 1-2 and is now taking applications for event vendors.

The festival will showcase music, film and art, featuring numerous bands headlined by Grammy performers The Avett Brothers. Other bands cover a wide range of rock, soul, pop, folk and blues music, including Langhorne Slim, Green River Ordinance, The Non-Commissioned Officers, The Sheriffs of Nottingham, and others. Proceeds from the event will benefit Heifer International.

Area vendors who want to reach thousands of students and members of the public while supporting a good cause can contact the campus life office at Harding for a copy of the vendor contract. Due to the amount of space and time, the number of novelty and craft vendors will be limited to 30. We ask that 15 percent of your sales be contributed toward the festival-wide donation to Heifer International.

For more information, call 501-279-4106 or e-mail firstthaw@harding.edu. The deadline to submit a vendor contract is March 21. You can also visit firstthawfestival.com for a complete list of artists, ticket prices and event schedule.

Since 1944 Heifer International has helped 13.6 million families in more than 125 countries move toward greater self-reliance through the gift of livestock and training in Earth-friendly agricultural practices. The impact of each gift is multiplied as recipients agree to Pass on the Gift by giving one or more of their animals' offspring, or the equivalent, to another family in need.
