Harding pharmacy professor appears in national publication
SEARCY, Ark. — Dr. Melissa Max, assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Harding University, was featured in the winter issue of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Intersections magazine.
The article, titled “Establishing Pharmacotherapy Services in a Primary Care Clinic” focuses on Max’s work through the Harding College of Pharmacy partnership with ARCare, formerly White River Rural Health Center.
Max spent two days each week in an ARCare clinic, working with a nurse practitioner and other staff to conduct reviews on patients taking medication for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Program goals included identifying potential adverse drug events and improving health outcomes through patient education and the provision of clinical pharmacy services.
