Graduate Reading Programs continue Picture Book Author Series
Harding Graduate Reading Programs will wrap up the 2010-11 Picture Book Author Series March 4-5 featuring Eric Rohmann and Candace Fleming.
The workshop gives students and teachers the opportunity to hear from renowned authors and gain insight on how to use their books in the classroom. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with both Rohmann and Fleming by sharing a meal and going to a book signing following the sessions.
Rohmann is the author of the book Time Flies, which received a Caldecott Honor award and was named a Notable Book of the Year by the New York Times. In addition to being an author and illustrator, he has taught drawing and printmaking and holds degrees from both Arizona State University and Illinois State University.
Fleming is the author of more than 20 children’s books and has been awarded for many of them, including The Lincolns, Muncha! Muncha! Muncha! and Boxes for Katje. She frequently speaks at schools, conferences and workshops.
The event includes three sessions and book signings featuring the spotlighted authors. The nonrefundable cost is $125 for one event, $100 each if you have already attended one of the other workshops, or $75 each for those attending all three events. Price includes a Friday night meal with the author, a Saturday continental breakfast, and author information packet. Students who attend any of the three conferences can receive three hours of graduate level credit from Harding for $375.
