Pied Pipers performance on campus Feb. 12
SEARCY, Ark. — The Pied Pipers, Harding University’s improvisational children’s theatre troupe, will perform Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. in the Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
Pied Pipers is directed by Dottie Frye, assistant professor of theatre, and comprises nine students. Their shows use a combination of fairy tales, Aesop fables, poems, songs, audience participation and modern stories.
“Our purpose is to entertain children and spark their imaginations,” Frye said. “Each show is full of high energy, creativity and interaction with the children.”
The group will have one more performance this school year on April 23, also at 11 a.m. in the Reynolds Recital Hall.
Pied Pipers entertains approximately 20,000 students each year in a wide range of environments, including public and private schools, children’s homes, hospitals, preschool centers, centers for people with disabilities, libraries, churches, children’s theatre organizations, local arts councils, and private and commercial businesses or groups.
