Harding faculty member to highlight French composers in piano recital

SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding University music department will present a solo piano recital featuring Associate Music Professor Dr. Scott Carrell on Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Recital Hall.

The recital is free and open to the public with a focus on French composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Chabrier, Poulenc, Boulanger and Gallon. It is expected to last an hour and 20 minutes.

The music department typically hosts two to three faculty recitals each year, giving professors an opportunity to perform for an audience. Some recitals feature one faculty member while others showcase the talents of many.

“These programs provide cultural events for the Searcy and Harding communities to experience, allow an outlet for us to perform and to share music, and signify ongoing professional development of the music faculty,” said Carrell.
