Theatre department to present student-directed one-acts Feb. 10-12
SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding University theatre department will present a performance of two student-directed one-act plays, “The Scheme of the Driftless Shifter” by Carolyn B. Lane and “A Marriage Has Been Arranged” by Alfred Sutro, Feb. 10-12 at 7 p.m. each night in the Ulrey Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased before the show in the Reynolds communication office or at the time of the show in the Ulrey.
Junior Logan Kays of Red Wing, Minn., will direct “The Scheme of the Driftless Shifter,” a play within a play comically depicting what happens when everything goes awry for a group of theatre amateurs attempting to put on a show.
Junior Hannah Payne of Maumelle, Ark., will direct “A Marriage Has Been Arranged,” a witty Victorian Era duologue between the wealthy, self-confident Mr. Harrison Crockstead and the cynical, middle-classed Lady Aline de Vaux as they comically banter over a marriage proposal.
The student-directed one-acts will continue throughout the month of February by the following schedule:
Feb. 17-19
“The Ransom of Red Chief,” directed by Tyler Perring
“World Without Memory,” directed by Rob Yates
