Student-directed one-acts continue Feb. 17-19
The Harding University theatre department will present a performance of two student-directed one-act plays, “World Without Memory” by Seth Kramer, and “The Ransom of Red Chief,” adapted by Addison Gerry Smith from the story by O. Henry, Feb. 17-19 at 7 p.m. each night in the Ulrey Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased before the show in the Reynolds communication office or at the door on the night of the performances.
Junior Rob Yates of Tabernacle, N.J., will direct “World Without Memory,” a play that details the life of an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer’s as he loses touch with the world around him, forgetting important pieces of his life like where he is and even who his daughter is.
Junior Tyler Perring of Guthrie, Okla., will direct “The Ransom of Red Chief, a play following two men who kidnap a young boy to secure a ransom from his wealthy father. But when the boy becomes too much for the kidnappers to handle, the tables are comically turned.
The student-directed one-acts will conclude Feb. 24-26 with “The Fall of the House of Usher,” directed by Marcus Bellamy and “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” directed by Cassie Bennett.
