Harding to hold open children’s auditions for musical
SEARCY, Ark. — Harding University will hold open children’s auditions for the 2012 Homecoming musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” to be staged Oct. 24, 26 and 27 in Benson Auditorium.
Children and young people 8 years old through college age are needed. Participants must be comfortable singing in a group and perform simple choreography. Young people who audition for these roles also must be less than 5 feet 5 inches tall. Those selected to be in the children’s chorus will be on stage for the entire show and be active participants in several scenes.
Auditions will be held Aug. 24 and 25 with callbacks on Aug. 6 in Benson Auditorium. They are open to all students — public-, private- and home-schooled — in the Searcy area.
Audition packets are available on the second floor of the Reynolds Center for Music and Communication just off Beebe-Capps Expressway. Interested persons should pick up the information packets between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
